VisceralTheatre Crash and Burn
Joseph Johnson’s Scottish oil empire was created through decades of sweat and blood – lots of blood. Onboard a gas-guzzling jet bound for Glasgow’s COP26 climate conference, the tycoon faces an ultimatum: confess or crash. An egotistical actor and a suspicious flight attendant are caught in the crossfire, accompanied by rebellious assistants and Johnson’s daughter. Exposing rampant corruption in the oil industry, while ridiculing the hypocrisy of high-profile activists and self-congratulatory conferences, this story explores the implications of environmental terrorism in response to the climate emergency.
