Acting Coach Scotland A Requiem for Anna Akhmatova

Theatre

16+

From the producers of I, Sniper and Chaika. Banned and bugged, her son imprisoned and her husband executed – just how dangerous could one poet be? Witness the true story of Anna Akhmatova, the poet who took on Stalin. In Soviet Russia, poetry could get you killed. Under surveillance, Akhmatova secretly wrote a poem about the state of life in the Soviet Union. Afraid for her life, she asked her friends to memorise a piece of her poem. Requiem charts the terror of life under dictatorship.
