A new work that chronicles a young mother's journey as she struggles with the loss of her estranged child. At 18, Em runs off after getting pregnant with her musically inclined son, Jake. Lost in NYC with a newborn, Em meets a coercive, self-professed "chakra healer" (played by a puppet) who introduces Em to a cold outlook on motherhood. Years pass, tensions boil and drug abuse spikes. Jake flees. His life ends early. The piece focuses on Em's exploration of the lyrics and memories Jake left behind. A music-based show about paranoia, homosexuality, excess, and forgiveness.
