Edinburgh Fringe 2020 Update

April 1st 2020 at 4:02pm

As you will probably have already seen, due to the ongoing global situation with Covid-19 and the uncertainty it continues to generate, this morning the Fringe have announced that the festival this year will not continue as planned.

All at theSpaceUK are hugely disappointed that the Festival in 2020 won't happen, but we believe that the priority right now - and for the next few weeks and months - is for us all to focus on maintaining good health within our families and communities and to return to normality in good time and without risk.

Our programme for 2020 was packed full of innovative and exciting work, our new writing programme bursting with creativity. The silver lining being that we can already confirm that a large % of shows we'd planned to host in 2020 will instead be bringing their shows to theSpaceUK at Fringe 2021 and with this in mind we look forward to working towards Fringe 2021 with a renewed and unrivaled vigour.

We can also report that we will be refunding all rental fees to those shows booked to perform with us in 2020 that cannot roll over their show to the 2021 Fringe. We believe this to be the right and ethical thing to do.

To the family and staff who make theSpaceUK a home for audiences & companies alike, thank you for all you do to make theSpaceUK that little bit special.

And finally to our audiences, we thank you for all your support and look forward to hosting you all again in future years.

We'll be in touch when we have more news, but for now we wish one and all good health and safe keeping.
