The Showhawk Duo Sunday Sessions

The Showhawk Duo are a furiously energetic acoustic-guitar duo, blending a classical connoisseur with a hard-rock specialist. They will be entertaining you with songs from their eclectic back catalogue, spanning a vast stylistic spectrum – from 70′s pop hits, to gypsy jazz, to operatic overtures their set truly defies classification! Mikhail Asanovic is a classically trained guitarist, having recently completed his postgraduate diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music, and Jake Wright is a self taught electric / fingerstyle player / singer songwriter. Mikhail’s classical style pitched against the more abrasive, rhythmic paroxysms characterised in Jake’s playing compliment each other in this seemingly incongruous partnership to create one unified sound, breathing new life into a range of popular songs and more. Come along to one of their Sunday Special shows, and you will be treated to a selection of carefully chosen solo pieces from both halves of the Showhawk Duo – aimed at giving you an idea of how these two vastly different musical personalities came to play, write, and arrange such unique and unusual music together.
