Symphosium

Performed by: Le Gatte

Symposium is taken from ‘La voix Humaine’ by Jean Cocteau. A woman consumes the last moments of his life in a dramatic telephone conservation with the man who has just left her after a long and complicated relationship of 5 years. Her life has no meaning without love. The end of that phone call will mark the end of his life. Clinging to a telephone wire to cling to life. The play is set in a fashion atelier where are exposed paintings and couture dresses that make their entry in public for the first time. Bright colours and twirling drapes become the dream scenario of a performance that tastes tragically real. English, Italian and French alternate in a language game that has an innovative power of extraordinary charisma. The public is not allowed to escape because where there is no word physical actions, full of emotion, lead the audience in front of his own emotions. A “face to face” with the dark side of themselves. The Purpose? Giving a smile after having allowed a tear to flow on the face of the unsuspecting viewer.
