The link between childhood emotional trauma and adult love life explored by means of a comic analysis of superheroes’ lives. Superheroes are seemingly invincible. However, they seem to need love more than any of us. They live tormented love stories with partners who stimulate their dark side, shaped by their unhappy childhood. A look at the emotional side of: The Hulk, The Thing, Thor, Batman, Spiderman and the very Italian heroine Bedelia. An investigation on how heartbreak can lead to the discovery of the superhero that lives inside ourselves (with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture Edinburgh).
