Fearless new theatre company, Delirium Theatre, make their debut appearance at the festival as they take on playwright Arthur Kopit’s absurdist play, Chamber Music. The play features eight historically famous women, but not in their usual contexts. Contained in the same insane asylum, the characters- Gertrude Stein, Amelia Earhart, and Constanze Mozart, to name a few- fear an attack from the men’s ward. Both the audience and the characters are embroiled in an absurd theatrical world which questions both sanity, and identity. Delirium theatre’s fresh and electrifying approach to ensemble theatre is not to be missed.
