Atmospheric reworking of the Sophocles classic by a student/graduate company from Emanuel School. In the air raid shelter in 1943 the nightly residents are welcomed by the wardens and gather to hear the tale of Antigone, a self-willed little beast, who defies her uncle Creon and buries her brother. Antigone must be put to death, with awful consequences for those around her. The Jean Anouilh classic has been reinvented as a tense, energetic tragedy presented by a twenty- strong cast of young actors making their Edinburgh debut following a sell-out run in London.
