The Marat/Sade

The Marquis de Sade has written a play; a tale of madness, passion and idealism is about to come alive. The story tells of the death of Jean-Paul Marat at the hands of the fanciful Charlotte Corday. However with inmates as actors, the boundaries between theatre and reality soon begin to blur. This ensemble production combines physical theatre, playful verse and shocking detail to bring Weiss's confrontational masterpiece to the stage.
