BLACK COMEDY
How far would you go to impress your future father-in-law? Well, twenty-something art collector Brindsley Miller's light fingers have been working overtime: he has 'borrowed' his neighbour's priceless antique furniture. With a curmudgeonly army Colonel set to arrive at any minute, Brindsley is suitably bristling with nerves. The last thing he needs is a powercut. Enter a prim teetotaller reaching for the bottle, an electrical German giant, and Brindsley's ex-mistress and the evening gradually spirals hilariously downwards into disaster... One of the world's finest playwrights, Peter Shaffer, wrote this brilliantly surreal and ridculously funny farce in 1965. Over forty years later, it feels as fresh and clever today as it was at it's premiere. *BREAKOUT THEATRE BRINGS THIS TIMELESS CLASSIC TO VENUE 45 FOR THE 2009 EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL.* Cast includes: Maria Comerford, Adam Elms, Montague Kimball-Evans, Michael Skeates, Eleanor Skinner, Alice St.Aubyn, Paul West, Christian Williams. Directed by Adam Elms, Victoria Aubrey-Rees.
