Venue 45The Space@Venue 45 has been managed by the same production team since 1995, in that time it has developed into a central venue for professional, student and amateur theatre of originality and excellence from all over the world.

Its central position (just off the Royal Mile) and on the walk through from The Pleasance to The Assembly Rooms gives the venue an outstanding location advantage and with its established array of award winning theatre these unique advantages have meant that Venue 45 has become one the most popular middle sized venues in Edinburgh.

The Shows:

Since 1997, 72% of shows staged at Venue 45 have received 4 or 5 star reviews from the Scotsman. 39% have received feature coverage and several have either won or been nominated for major fringe awards. Please view some testimonials of returning companies.

We have catered for major productions from Berkhoff's 'The Fall of the House of Usher' to an amazing production from the Isle of Orkney (St Magnus Festival Players) with 41 cast members. 77% of theatre companies that have used venue 45 return to perform again.

Prices / Inclusive deals:

Our prices are all inclusive; we have no hidden costs, no commission on box office or charges for show publication in the venue brochure. All you will pay is the agreed all inclusive fee. It's worth being aware when booking a venue of the hidden cost and percentage split scenarios, make sure you know your final financial comittment before you agree any deals. Finally, we do not hold your box office funds for interest purposes and will return them to you at the end of each daily show.

We are flexible if you want to talk about a box office split or wish to discuss prices further, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any financial queries.

What do you get in the all inclusive deal:

  • Sole use of the theatre, dressing room for the period of your show
  • Box Office support from 0930-2300 daily, dealing with on the door sales and advance reservations
  • First class technical support from our experienced production team from the time of booking to your get-out
  • Full technical control - we let your own technicians operate your performances
  • Technical rehearsal period one-and-a-half times your slot length
  • A 60 word description of your show in 20,000 Venue brochures
  • A 60 word description of your show in the Venue website
  • Inclusion in the venue press releases
  • Advertising on venue hoardings on the Royal Mile and outside the theatre
  • We have public liability insurance

Payment Methods:

A deposit of 20% of the rental will be required on confirmation of the booking and return of contract, 50% by the 1st May and the remaining 30% by 16th July.

For booking information and available time slots then do contact us at your earliest convenience. Many slots are reserved very quickly by returning companies so do register your interest ASAP and fill in this application form.

If possible please have in mind your preferred time slots and your preferred week(s) if you not intending to perform the full 21 day run.
