The Space @ Jury's Inn has been a fringe venue since 2002.
The Space Jury's Inn is in an ideal central position (seconds from the Royal Mile), 500yds from Waverley Station and on the walk through from the Pleasance to The Assembly Rooms - the festivals most established venues.
It's an ideal theatre for the first time Edinburgh show, the 40 seat end on black box caters comfortably for 1-4 handers. The venue has developed naturally since 2002 into one offering an affordable opportunity for young theatre companies to come to Edinburgh for a long run, on a budget and perform right at the heart of the Fringe.
The Shows:
Much of our focus in programming this venue is very much aimed at giving new and progressive companies the platform to gain the invaluable experience of performing on the Edinburgh Fringe and with that in mind our prices reflect a passion for young and developing theatre.
2009:
With shows every hour of the festival The Space@Jury's Inn hosted an array of shows from monologues to comedy sketches to musical theatre and poetry and from performance vocals to a one man Hamlet.
Several shows had a memorable month, with many of gaining the 'sold out show 2009' stamp from the fringe and many achieving 4 or 5 star reviews from the Scotsman, Three Weeks, The Stage, Ed Fringe, The Guardian and Broadway Baby. Highlights included: A Tan's a Tan For a' That!, Working Girls, Fear of Projection, Bessie Smith, The Happy Prince, Last Tango in Little Grimley, Mudusa's Snakes and The Murder Monologues all of which achieved 4/5 star reviews.

Prices / Inclusive deals:
Our prices are all inclusive; we have no hidden costs, no commission on box office or charges for show publication in the venue brochure. All you will pay is the agreed all inclusive fee. It's worth being aware when booking a venue of the hidden cost and percentage split scenarios, make sure you know your final financial comittment before you agree any deals. Finally, we do not hold your box office funds for interest purposes and will return them to you at the end of each daily show.
We are flexible if you want to talk about a box office split or wish to discuss prices further, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any financial queries.
What do you get in the all inclusive deal:
- Sole use of the theatre, dressing room for the period of your show
- Box Office support from 0930-2300 daily, dealing with on the door sales and advance reservations
- First class technical support from our experienced production team from the time of booking to your get-out
- Full technical control - we let your own technicians operate your performances
- Technical rehearsal period one-and-a-half times your slot length
- A 60 word description of your show in 20,000 Venue brochures
- A 60 word description of your show in the Venue website
- Inclusion in the venue press releases
- Advertising on venue hoardings on the Royal Mile and outside the theatre
- We have public liability insurance
Payment Methods:
A deposit of 20% of the rental will be required on confirmation of the booking and return of contract, 50% by the 1st May and the remaining 30% by 16th July.
